Re:SS3D is an open source project aiming to recreate the classic game SS13 in a current gen engine.

I joined the project in early 2019, interested in contributing however i could. I quickly realized however that the project was in a state that made it hard for progress to be made, so i took upon myself to find solutions to this issue.
It was not long untill i was promoted to Tech Lead, taking upon the responsibility to lead our handful of contributors with limited free time through the process of contributing to the project in the most effective way possible.
As the new Tech lead of the project, i quickly understood that i would have to dedicate time towards managing the direction of the project itself.
In doing so, i familiarized myself with the main ways modern dev teams are led and got to experiment with a few methods. We ended up choosing a Kanban board with milestones, which helped us tremendously going forward.

RE:SS3D being a game oriented towards the simulation of a space station, the systems we had to design were especially demanding. Over time, we worked towards putting in place solid design documents to ensure that our contributors could contribute towards creating those systems without having extensive knowledge of every system in the game.
My varied abilities as a coder and 3D artist provided me with the ability to act as a bridge between the artists and the developers, helping our contributors to find solutions to complex problems that sometimes involved working with both skill sets.
In addition to that, it was an excellent tool to illustrate what designs could and should lead to in game
